Elche
Elche is the third most important city in the Valencian Community (after Valencia and Alicante) in terms of population, area and economic activity. A leisurely stroll around Elche’s ancient streets will reveal appealing historic sights and places of interest, relics of a bygone splendorous civilisation.
Both the “Palmeral de Elche” (Palm Grove), and the “Misteri d'Elx” (Mystery Play of Elx) have declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The former is a cultural landscape inherited from Al-Andalus. The latter is a is a liturgical drama dating from the Middle Ages.
